High: 27° / Low: 16° — Dude Weather Subscribe to Secrets Minneapolis / St. Paul
Ya gotta like Horgen's little tour of where to find food after 2 a.m. Anything missing?
I always thought that CityPages should have a special section for this on their online site. Especially for after the clock strikes 10pm. (though it's not a post 2am joint, we love 112 Eatery for it's 'real city' hours.)
Late late night you'll find me with sliders at the White Castle on Central. Ouch.
Club 3 Degrees is a Christian club???
As someone who works overnights in the warehouse dist. (across the street from 112 eatery) I'm aware of a couple more...
Pizza Luce is open until 2:30 daily and Panchero's (Block E) is open to 2:30 or later on Thu, Fri, and Sat. Getting into Block E after 2am requires entering through the garage or skyway though because all of the street entrances are locked.
I've been to that White Castle on Central and I second the "ouch" - especially the regarding breakfast menu.
Anyone else have some other recommendations near the warehouse dist? I'm definitely tired of Luce.
Oh shit. It's its not it's. Don't hate me panda.
Azia has happy hour until 2 am every night. I'm pretty sure the kitchen serves til then.
Santana Foods near the U. Holy crap the french fries at Santana Foods are amazing. I've also heard that durring the summer they offer a hooka in their outdoor seating.
Oh, Santana's! They put crack on their fries!
I used to frequent Santana's. Hundreds of U students waiting in line to be serviced crappy food by really crabby, mean people because it's 3 a.m. and everyone is drunk. And we went there about once a week, regardless of the awfulness.
The inability to get food after bar close (or hell, BEFORE bar close) has always bothered me about the Twin Cities.
Little T's all the way. You always regret it in the morning, just like you should!
taylor, it most definitely is.
you mean you didn't see the Stryper reunion show there 2 years ago or so?? :)
The Red Pepper in Grand Forks. Long drive to satisfy a crave, but worth it.
Did Stryper really play there? How did I not hear about that?
how is it that there are two Stryper references within a week's time?
Hey, Moe- the Red Pepper delivers via FedEx! In fact, 4 grinders are arriving to my doorstep today - the perfect pre-UND-vs-MN hockey game dinner.
OT... That's awesome jaimee. I'm going to the Bulldog for lunch to get a grinder before the game tonight. Got my gophers jersey on right now!
The Uptown Diner is missing from that list.
Anybody know where you can get donuts after hours? Because sometimes you just want donuts at 4am.
I've gone to Lund's/Byerly's at 4:00am for cupcakes. If you don't mind their bakery, maybe that's your best bet for doughnuts.
Wait a minute. Moe, you're from GF?
Remind me to tell you the story of one of my friends who asked for a "grinder with no meat" from the Red Pepper.
I have been banned from Santana's for life. Twice.
What about that pizza place next to Figlios? Ahh, can't think of the name. I've got lots of pizza there after hours. Taste great late, nasty when sober.
What about village wok? that place kept me full of enough late night MSG to get through four years at the U without actually ever blinking.
cheers to subgum!
Village Wok closes at 1:30, so it's not a qualifier.
black java just reminded me that SoHo Cafe is open until 3:00am.
Another spot: the Washington Ave Bobby & Steve's. The deli there is a zoo at bar close. Tons of people line up for pizza and hot dogs and burritos and sandwiches.
Yep. And Bobby & Steve's = another 4am donut source.
Nope, not from GF, but my parents are, went to UND, and we still go up every once in a while to see the grandma. We would stay at the Westward Ho, have dinner at Paradiso, drink at Bonzers, and grab a late night grinder at the Red Pepper. Good times.
Uh, grinder with no meat? That's just silly. :)
BJ you are thinking of Rotisserie and another good place is SoHo.
Manny's tortas is so much better than Pineda and just down the street. If you can stand the super loud Tejano dance music blasting til 3am.
Here is another late night dining guide.
Thanks jibbers. I like how they have one of them big jugs of water at the end of the line. Its like a friendly reminder that you've been drinking and you need some water.
I never understood the village wok. Comparing it to other chinese places, the food wholeheartedly sucks. I guess if you're a stupid drunk college student, you don't care what you're eating.
Not a single mention of the Mediterranean Deli - located on Cedar somewhere between Nomad and Triple Rock (right across from the crack stacks). I don't even think they have real hours. They just stay open real late until no one is rolling in anymore. Or if they feel like closing. The gyros are so spicy and also so totally boss. Plus there is a poster of some native Kenyan holding a coffee mug with the caption "In Kenya, tea, coffee and love are served hot!"
Don't eat the food at Club 3 Degrees. They sneak Jesus in the water. I swear.
