We must defeat the gypsy mothian army before it reaches our villages! Minnesotans unite!

With my sincerest apologies to Sonny & Cher, shouldn't this post have been labeled "Gypsy Moths, Tramps and Thieves"?

The CCO story I don't think has gotten as much play as I expected. More homeless families would also mean more crowded shelters, etc., right? We've had some good articles about higher demand at foodshelves but not as much about the need for more emergency housing options. How many folks have found themselves cleaning out spare bedrooms for friends or relatives in this crisis?

Councilmember Schiff said banks aren't selling foreclosed homes because they're waiting until the market hits rock bottom.
Err, what? This is news to me...

Hopefully, bad economy time will act on people like Christmas and we will be reminded of how lucky we are and we can help out people who have less by donating time and supplies to shelters and to the less fortunate.

I'm just saying its nice to be reminded people need help other times of the year besides Christmas.

So, wasn't there just an article the other day about how more and more people are renting their homes out instead of trying to sell, and how some feared this could cause a glut in the rental market?
I swear it was just in the last couple of days I saw that...

Home Foreclosures Mean More Homeless Families
This headline's almost a no-brainer.
If a family's home is foreclosed, their credit is all that much worse. Poor credit means less likelihood of being able to rent; they're already cash-strapped as it is and are also less likely to be able to afford a rental damage deposit.
Home Foreclosures Mean More Homeless Families
This headline reminds me of my favorite headline of all time, from the Minnesota Daily:
Study: People Lie to Have Sex
Well, duh.

Breaking: Ford has announced that the St. Paul plant will remain open at least until 2011 (two years longer than expected), making Rangers.
Good news for the Saintly City.
